This line, "There was something special about Art, an invisible special something that made kids naturally want to kick his ass." is especially meaningful to me. I work with special ed kids and sometimes wonder what it is about THAT particular kid that attracts bullies like flies to honey.

I read Pop Art to my ds (he's 17 now) and he really loved it.

I started to read "pop art" tonight to mary over the phone while she was getting ready to sleep....as i was reading away, mary stopped me in mid sentence..and she said" i enjoy moments like this" and i responded" i like reading to you...we should start to do this more often"..

Hey...has anyone heard anything else about when/where the "Pop Art" film will be released? I've been googling and yahooing it but can't seem to find much. I hope if someone hears something they will post it. Since there is going to be something of a wait before we get some new Joe material it would be great to be able to see this in the meantime.

Thanks Shane! I/we appreciate it! :D

On the downside, I guess that means there's no word yet though. :( Sorry I'm so impatient. It's just so exciting to see something of Joe's brought to the screen!

I just finished Pop Art and it really moved me. Some people thing that Art was an imaginary friend. I dident think in that way. I thought that in the world i was reading in, there were inflatable people...no questions asked. For a short story, it was huge by my standards. I reall was touched by it. Joe is definitely going to be one of the greatest writers of our time. I am looking forward to adding his works in my collection.

Just in case you haven't been obsessively checking old blog posts (like me) there is a review of the movie from "don" who saw it. It's under "Pop Art Preview" for anyone who is interested. Gosh, I hope I get to see it someday! :)
