Those are moths and not evil pixies?
I feel let down somehow...

Actually, they're locusts. One of the backgrounds initially conceived for Joe's website hinting at one of his stories. *shrugs*

Locusts...I can accept locusts, as long as they're the Cleansing Locusts of the Apocalypse!!! But if they're simply your garden variety "yeah they ravaged a few crops this season, but we'll make up for it next year" locusts I must demand that they be replaced with Evil Pixies...
(though I swore to quit camp last evening, the vaporization of my vow effectively renders it null and void) >:)

Don't locusts need to be this color? And have those long, yucky, locusty bodies?

I'm sorry, they look so peaceful and floaty and.... moth-ey.
Unlike Francis....

Sorry...I don't think I've ever seen a locust up close...guess that's why I got them confused. They're still pretty.

As I'm going to be cleaning up the board in a little while, I wanted to run something past you all, since I like letting you know what I'm doing and why. Also, if it's something the majority of you wind up disagreeing with, I can always look for other alternatives...

Typically, I don't mind the digressions within the Pop Culture segment of the board. I try to keep things as on-topic as possible with Joe's section of the forums.

In the past, I've weeded the off-topic stuff away from the thread, and routinely into it's own topic down in the Pop Culture area. This is because there are often enough replies to warrant this action.

However, I've stumbled across some comments that are aren't really taking off in their own conversational-direction. I don't want to clutter up the threads with a topic that's only got one or two posts to it, so I think I'll be deleting them instead.

These comments won't typically be new ones -- I don't like actually deleting anything unless it's been here for a while, because, well... you never know!

Just thought I'd throw this out to you all as the position I'm leaning towards. Again, if you're strongly opposed to this, then please let me know.

Hope you're all looking toward a really excellent holiday weekend!

They are, indeed! There's nothing worse than having a passive swarm of locusts descending on your town.

Uh...well, gee ummm. Not so pretty I guess. I never thought of locusts with such big muscles and sharp teeth. I suppose that's what Francis ended up looking like, eh?
