Anyone checked out the warner bros page for the Watchmen movie:

So far its looking good, faithful to the original work. The photos look fantastic!

Lets hope the plot remains intact.... :)

Agreed! Though the very production of this film makes me uneasy. I wished it had been for pay-cable, something like a year-long series for HBO. That way, they could have made 12-14 one-hour episodes, representing all the issues and content (relatively) from the separate comics. Condensing it all into one movie, even with a lengthy running time really seems to me like only adapting a handful of the series. There's *so* much in those issues, how can you squeeze it all in?

It would be excellent if they did that, but it's probably wishful thinking on our behalf. I remember being totally gutted after seeing the butchered V for Vendetta on the big screen, so much was missed out.

There are certain adaptations that are bound to happen that I wish were done in a longer-format, like the HBO-style. The Dark Tower would be one of them, too. But, I think a lot of (studio) people are going to watch how the last Harry Potter film does, being one example of a long work that's divided up into two installment films. That might allow for them to take a risk on long source material, but it's too late for Watchmen... which is still too long to even just be two films.

V is a good example of lots being cut out. So much material in the comic, but oddly enough, despite missing a lot of what was there, I still thought the film was pretty good. I'm just kind of looking at the Watchmen film as being a movie version of "the greatest hits" from the source.

I didn't think the film was a total loss, was just gutted that so much was missing. The hope I have about Vendetta / Watchmen etc is that the film wets appetites and that people search out the original material.

Lets hope that The Dark Tower is treated well...

good point crew(alot of good pts=straight line)....i do view them as 2 different beasts, but sometimes it does get irritating when something u like so much is cut into a shadow of what it is.......

I read Watchmen almost immediately after being blown away by the trailer. Brilliant book, I think everybody should check it out.

since I'm on the subject of comics I just saw the hulk I'm perplexed about whether it was necessary to make another as what I thought or led to believe it wasn't a sequel or not a marvel produced film when it clearly was.

but Liv tyler was hot

Well, I hear that there is alot more footage that was shot..It may add a little more depth to the movie...dont get me wrong i enjoyed it, i would just like to see the whole movie....By the way, im still pissed off that we have never had the opppurtunity to see " ALL THE PRETTY HORSES" as the director( BB thornton) intended it to be...last time i heard it had something to do with the rights to the soundtrack...
