Yeah, I agree with other readers... the book is good so far, but seriously... why in the hell does Joe Hill have to hate on people who grew up in FL panhandle? It's a bit distracting...

I really would not be offended, I'm pretty sure that it was not Mr. Hill's intent to piss off the panhandle. However, the location of Jude's Father's house nestled in the thick florida swamps seemed just right. Plus Craddock didn't have those flood lights installed on that old pick-up truck for nothing. :)

I didn't take any offense to the book. You do have to realize that it's FICTION.

I am a Floridian, born and raised.
I hate on everybody in the Panhandle too. Their landscape is more interesting than is ours and everywhere else in the state. PLUS... they are closer to the Capital, so they think they are smarter than those of us Closer to say...Geoorgia or Disney World.
