I've never seen one, but I believe that they are made.

In this crazy-ass world I have no doubt that they are made. I also bet that there is a market for the ones that are set up to LOOK real but are actually scripted, kind of like how 8MM showed.

I can get behind a porno as much as the next chick but I have no desire to see a snuff film, neither real or scripted. Gross Me Out!
Are you stalking me? Cuz that would be SUPER!

When he first described the dark shadows of the dogs I lilterally had to stop reading-it really did stop me cold.

d :D

This one was also my favorite.

Like others have mentioned, I also like the part where Jude sees Ruth's ghost and manages to call out to her only to have nothing change.

I wished he included more of the dogs shadows --made them do more.

Putting Craddock's voice in the in voice box was a stroke of genius, and utterly terrifying, that the mundane can, unexpectedly, rise up against us.

oh that, and all the others mentioned, too.

seance really really freaked me!

Saying goodbye

Postby constantreader1963 on Wed May 09, 2007 2:56 am

my favorite is probably stange to others, but that's me. I like when Jude tells his Dad that he is his bad dream. It is like closeure, for all the bad things his father did to him, without having to be something you'd see on Dr Phil, or Jerry Springer. Joe kept it simple.
oh damned vacillitating state!

so far my favorite scene is when jude starts calling georgia marybeth properly, that touched me up that did, and when they are laying on the bed giggling in the face of all the shit they have been through already. and of course all the other scenes mentioned especially the dennys scene.

That's hard, I really liked the scenes already mentioned. However, for me I think it would be when Jude is "watching" what happened between Craddock and Anna when she died. Jude touches Anna's shoulder when she's confronting Jessica and Craddock in the hall. But especially when Anna is in her room listening to Jude and Craddock comes in and he is pulling the shades closed, and Jude says "I love you, Florida" and she "replied" "Love you, Jude" much to Craddocks surprise. And mine, too! It made me wonder...
It's was heart-wrenching to me because who wouldn't want that last chance to just see and touch someone they loved that is gone, and to tell them you love them just one last time?
I also liked when Danny kept calling lost, and we find out what happened to him, and learn of the guilt he's carried. I like how there is no perfect character in the book.

best scenes

Postby savage on Tue May 29, 2007 11:40 am

I liked the diner scene the best but I agree with many of you that the 'shadow dogs' aspect of the story was very appealing. I only wonder if humans have these shadow entities inside as well???

That's a strange reaction. I didn't even know a person could ball her eyes out. There's no question people can ball their brains out though. :D

(I can't believe no one else had a smartass comment about the "ball" for "bawl" typo.)

Now, Now Padded...we don't make Smart-Ass comments...we only make contructive mention of when someone commits a grammatical Faux Pas....
