"M" is for Mystery, San Mateo, CA: Tue., March 13

By the way, here is the inscription Joe put in my book. The quote from the book was at my request, he added the rest when I told him my birthday was coming up that weekend (it was last Saturday).

Yeah, THAT inscription is AWESOME!!! 8)

Very nice account of the evening. Joe sounds like a great guy and I'm remiss to even admit that I didn't know he was going to BE in the Bay area at that time. I'm a dork! :? Don't think I'll miss that again. I think a 7 hour drive would be doable! :P

I want to thank you and Jerome again for your generosity. As I've said before, the beer's always on ice here. Or on tap! 8)

Damn, I'm still loving that inscription! Joe, where you gonna be on January 25th???? I want a Birthday one too!!!

Thanks, Bill. You know, Southwest has cheap flights between here and there all the time. See you at one or the other someday!

I don't mind flying, but it would be a 1 1/2 hour drive to the Eugene airport (3+ hours to Portland), 2 hours before boarding, a 1 hour flight...

....hell, I'd easily be breathing California air in a car by then!!! :p

I like driving. :)

That said, if we take Southwest, you pick us up!

Fair enough. I thought you were actually in Portland. My bad.

No sweat. I've lived in many parts along the 1-5 corridor, including Portland. We've settled in Roseburg. For now!

I was hoping Powells would solicit Joe to do a signing, but when I inquired, they seemed uninterested and gave me some canned response. Their (and my) loss.

Joe! Come to Oregon!!!!! 8)
