Writing program?

Postby cbig_1 on Fri Mar 06, 2009 7:11 pm

Quite some time ago Joe commented on what program he uses for writing. Think it was on the website, but might have been on the forum. Can anyone tell me the name and maybe a link on how to get it?
Thanks in advance, Chris

Chris,

Though Joe uses other ways to write from time to time (writing longhand in a journal/notebook, an old typewriter, etc.), he typically uses MS Word to do the majority of his work.

Thanks for the response. For some reason I thought I'd read that he used one of the Writer specific programs.

It's probably going to be a long day because I don't know what you mean by this, and I feel like I should. What types of programs are you referring to here?

You know...I read a couple of months ago about a writer's program that was like the one they had in the old days. Just like the one in "Stand By Me" (which I watched again the other day). Black screen, green letters. Some writers like it because there are no distractions on the screen.

I found this one - http://www.codealchemists.com/jdarkroom/ - looks nifty. I may download it myself. There are others too, just google distraction free writing program. Don't know if Joe uses any such software, sorry if we stole your thread, c_big1.

I thought the best writing program was throwing a bunch of monkeys in a room with typewriters.
