Got it today and I must say, the cover art in person is even more amazing than I'd expected. Fine, fine work, G.

I'm holding off on reading since I know there'll be an evil cliffie.

Just received my Jetpack Comic's Exclusive Locke & Key Head Cases No 1, and can I say Joe you've done it again I'm hooked. I cant but help wonder what Locke & key would have been like as a book series, much like what your father did with The Dark Tower Series!!

Will you be doing any signings for Locke & Key Headcases?

So, here's my roundup of some of the reviews that are out there currently for Head Games. These are ones that Joe didn't link to from the blog entry, so anyone who's curious to see some of the critical responses to the new issue can check out the following:

These first two reviews are video reviews (just so you know, on the off chance you're looking at things while at work!), beginning with Fresh Ink, where L&K #1 was the pick-of-the-week:

These next three entries are all written reviews:

And finally, here's a link to the not particularly listenable Wizard Universe podcast (they liked it):

Must be a southern thing, eh? Or something I got from an old movie.

Joe/Shane

I'm wondering if you can help me out I am watching an item on Ebay Locke & Key:Head Games Issue 1, that has gold stamped Signed edition on the cover bottom left hand side and the seller states that Joe has signed it on the inside cover. I know that Joe last year when Locke & Key came out did a run of these for IDW but he signed them on the outside cover with the date, as I bought two directly from IDW, and my favorite of them was the one where Joe put a caption bubble beside the key saying Joe Hill Wuz here 2.4.08 NH.
But that aside am just looking to know if this is a genuine issue from IDW?

Herbie,

Sorry to be so inconsistent. If it has the gold foil on the cover, it's probably the real deal; and I did sign most of them on the inside cover because there's a really good place there for a signature.

Joe

No problem there about the placing of the signature, was just wanting to make sure that was buying the real deal. Now bought and paid for and another one to add to the collection. Can I just say Joe that I had been out of the comic life for years and when I heard that you where doing Locke & Key I was drawn back in and havent been a bit disappointed. Can I ask as well, I got a hard cover Locke & Key Welcome to Lovecraft signed by your good self from Waterfront books and in the back of it you marked out a book name and replaced it with Horns, just wondering if this is going to be your next book, and when to expect it?

Hey herbie...hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but Horns is Joe's next novel. Now as far as when it's going to come out, Joe hasn't announced it yet. I'd love to know as well and have asked, but I don't think he's ready to give up the info. The last thing I heard was he had finished his 3rd draft...maybe third time's the charm?

You're welcome herbie! I have to say I am every bit as anxious as you are to read HORNS. As much as I love L&K I am foremost a book lover and more than ready to sink my teeth into a good novel. I can't think of any book that I have looked forward to as much as this one. :)

I'm still like that over Gunpowder, I have my copy here to read but I have a massive backlog of books that my wife has banned me from reading any new books including Gunpowder until I read at least 5 off the backlog books!!

Is it just me or is that cruel?
