Ice Road Truckers, Season Two

Ice Road Truckers, Season Two

I still think it's cool.....Drew's an idiot......Hugh isn't top dawg any more....should be interesting watching him try to get the number 1 position.

They're driving on the arctic now- it just seems so crazy to me. The loads are bigger and heavier- if they go through the ice it's pretty certain death.

That's what makes it compelling to watch, I guess....

:( Cancelled our DirecTV a little bit ago. (Cancelling things here and there since we are moving in a few months-soon we'll be Comcastic) Watching tons and tons of PBS these days.

Ice Truckers stresses me out. I am so nervous for them. My palms sweat and everything. Hope it is a interesting season for you.

Bummer that you can't see it now, TG, but I'm sure it'll be on DVD eventually.

They film them previously and you just know that if anyone died or suffered an injury we'd have heard about it, eh? So that helps.

It's actually harder for me to watch The Verminators, uuuurrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh. :? Seeing hordes of cockroaches, bedbugs gone wild, spiders aplenty and various filthy critters makes me absolutely squirm in my seat and kick my legs! It's a workout watching that show, ugh.
And yet we keep watching.

Would I do it?
Well, for two months I did a side job of (over in the sandbox) providing security for fuel tankers riding from Baghdad to Fallujah, occasionally riding in the fuel truck itself. We use to call them suicide missions for a reasons, the main one being your a giant mobile bomb trying to avoid other bombs. And I remember I would always fucking get what we in the military call the MO GAS tanker, which was the more explosive kind, as opposed to say diesel which takes a lot more to go boom.
But no I would not do it! I never learned how to swim. So I would be soooo fucked if the ice ever broke.

Yeah, doing the job you signed up for to protect your country is one thing (Thanks, by the way. :) ) choosing to drive a ridiculously heavily loaded truck over ice.....on the arctic ocean....is quite another.

One dude last week talked about a friend of his hitting broken ice that they called a trapdoor and he and the truck just went right to the bottom- over 100 feet down. He figured- hoped- his buddy was dead almost immediately. :(

You gotta have some balls to drive those trucks. Which is why I'm still shocked that Drew is hanging around....

I agree.
The funny thing is, that fuel mission i was talking about was something i actually voluenteered for. It was a process of gradually not giving a shit. When you find yourself with an erection after some shit goes down you know its time to go home.
As for the ice truckers, money can make people do strange things as we all know.
