I HAVE rushed to my video stores for Devil's Backbone- and none of them have it!

I know I'd love it, I love DelToro's stuff and it's been highly recommended....better get it online I guess. :)

* Stay

This movie happened to begin one day when I was flipping. It was starting so I said "what the hey". I thought it was good. Nothing to run right out and get, but definitely worth putting on your netflix list or something.

* Crazy People

I have always loved this movie and thought it was highly underated...it was FUNNY. Love the "hello" guy... IDK, it's a cute movie.

I am a movie freak as well as being a book freak. I have a ton of movies I would recommend, but I'll try to keep the list down.

Classics:
1...Obviously, "Casablanca"
2..."To Kill a Mockingbird"
3...Anything with Jimmy Stewart, especially "Harvey", "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (esp. good in political season) & "Wonderful Life"
4..."Arsenic and Old Lace"
5...Most of the Marx Bros. movies, esp. "Duck Soup".
6..."Psycho", "The Birds"...pretty much all the Alfred Hitchcock movies.
7..."Catch-22"
8..."Harold and Maude"
9..."Babette's Feast"

The last 20 years or so:
1..."Crimes of the Heart"
2..."The Fisher King"
3..."Dead Again"
4..."Whale Rider"
5...Most of the Coen Bros. movies, esp. "Raising Arizona", "Oh Brother...", "The Big Lebowski" and "The Lady Killers"
6..."The Green Mile", "The Shawshank Redemption", "Stand By Me", "Misery" and "Dolores Claiborne" are my favorite SK adaptations.
7..."Clue"
8..."Magnolia"
9..."What About Bob?"
10..."Run, Lola, Run"
11..."Parenthood"
12..."Wit"

Most recent:
1..."Pan's Labyrinth" and pretty much anything by Del Toro...loved "The Devil's Backbone"
2..."Feast of Love"
3..."No Country For Old Men"
4..."Death Proof"
5..."The Mist"
6..."The Darjheeling Limited" (sp?)

Ok, I'm gonna make myself stop here, 'cause I realized that I don't have too many horror films here and that may be what you are looking for. I guess I've been pretty disappointed in a lot of the horror films I've seen over the years. I will say that the 2 scariest movies I've seen in the last year or so are "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" and "Session 9", but I've realized that scary-ness is in the eye of the beholder. Both of those movies freaked me out, but didn't seem to bother my daughters at all!

I have a brand new copy of Pet Cemetary on DVD. It has been sitting on my shelf since they started stamping them.

This is one of the only movies that actually scared me as a kid. I wont watch it now, so as to preserve my fond ...err umm... horrifing memory of the film!

When the kid uses the scalpel to slice through the ankles of Fred, from under the bed.... ohh the shivers.
