No. It's an article about how lame the Twilight series is.

Sorry g...I had to quit reading when I got to the "panty check".

BTW, I saw an tv interview with one of "those moms" standing in line with her daughters waiting to get into the movie. She said the Twilight movies "are like 'Gone With the Wind', 'Pride & Prejudice' and 'Withering Heights' all rolled into one!" (That's not a typo.) That kind of says it all, don't you think? :P

Hey! Twilight does not equal feminisim! As a matter of fact, that's one of the many issues I have with this series. And yes, I read the first book. I would have loved to been able to check my blood pressure while I was reading it.

Maybe I should have used a better word; metrosexism (if it is even a word)? Monster movies are suppose to be scary or funny, not lame.

I've never read the books or watched the movies and I don't plan to either. Everything I've heard about these books and movies is bad. I was in the bookstore in the airport and this girl with her parents was asking for the latest installment of the Twilight series. I gagged, shook my head, put back David Cross's I Drink for a Reason and left. The mother said something, but I ignored it. I should have told them to pick up 20th Century Ghosts.

I unfortuneately read Twilight ,worst piece of crap I've ever read, was asked if I'd like to read the next in the series and passed. The BDB series by JR Ward was almost as bad.

I've never read the books but I was arguing with someone on GoodReads that the films (this was brought on by a preview of New Moon and contains SPOILERS for the movie...) were a bad influence on young girls because judging buy the New Moon preview the plot is Edward breaks up with Bella and then Bella is so distraught she repeatedly tries to kill herself. The response I got back was she was not trying to kill herself but "trying to free herself from fear." HUH? How is that not the same thing? I also read a blog on Yahoo that stated several reasons why Twilight is a bad relationship model for young girls. I think the #1 reason was that Bella has no other hobbies but Edward and makes herself too available to him. My opinion, Twilight is killing feminism.

Good points, pr! I remember thinking the same thing when I read the first book (which was all I could take). She invests EVERYTHING in that relationship. No wonder she wants to kill herself; once he breaks up with her what does she have left? And I kept asking myself, what is the basis for this relationship? Why do they "love" each other? Their relationship is entirely based on attraction/lust. I keep thinking, what if they work things out and end up spending eternity together? How boring that would be!

What if it's not love at all and we find out that Bella is secretly part of a rabid raccoon clan but was distracted from her purpose in life by Edward's sparkliness? :) that'd be cool...Bella's secretly a rabid raccoon.

I absolutely cannot figure it out! Is it because of the vacuum left by the end of Harry Potter?
