98 Degrees of Separation...

Postby val04463 on Fri Jun 27, 2008 2:52 pm

My daughter was at my house using my computer today and I had an ITunes Shuffle thing happening and she was surprise..no make that aghast at the eclectic mix I had. Here's what I wondered...Do you suppose there is one song that we all have in our IMix/Mix CD collection? I would guess most of you have a lot newer stuff than I have..but we must all have one of the same songs...How can we narrow it down..shall we do it like a game of "Go Fish?".....Do you have any "Little Pink Houses by John Meloncouger?" "How about it,,huh? Do you?

Perhaps if we post the 5 artists we have the most cds of?
Or oldest to newest? Or type of music we listen to?

No Coldplay here...sorry. I have a cover of Aimee Mann singing "The Scientist". Does that count?

It may be difficult because we have people here from so many different age groups. I've gotten to that age where the only time I listen to a new band is when my daughter plays something for me. I listen to a lot of old stuff...my tastes range from Buddy Holly to Aimee Mann and that's about as far as I've gone.

Maybe we should ask about some classic rock? Most everyone has a favorite oldie or two.

I may be bias since I am a huge Beatles fan. I am sure with all the age groups present - we all must have at least one of the same Beatles' tunes.
I have tons - so I will say something less "pop" see where that goes.

I have "In My Life" - Do you?

Tina Turner! I have a lot of memories of my mom dancing to her music while vacuuming or cooking.

I just wrote on one of the music threads that there is a more recent band I like: Gogol Bordello...plan on buying one of their cds as soon as I can.

You know, I realized that a lot of my oldies are vinyl packed away in boxes...does that count or does it have to be a song that's readily accessible?

The only Beatles song I have on my computer is "Money". I have most of their stuff on vinyl.

How about "Mother's Little Helper" by the Rolling Stones? Anyone have the Mills Brothers, especially "Glow Worm".

"Young Folks" - Peter, Bjorn and John.
