I'm kicking myself for not seeing these guys live when I had the chance; The Mountain Goats performing the greatest song ever written, "No Children"

Grasking, really? Mazzy Star? And you like Okkervil River?
It's really too bad you are so far away...there are some great bands at Jannus Landing in St. Pete we could enjoy with a nice, cold beer.

I can appreciate that, actually. Though, I'm really only hooked on one or two of Mazzy Star's songs, and though I'd love to hear it live and drawn out... thank god for the Internet and it's uploads.

Most of the shows I go see are about a two hour ride (Boston, New York, Providence). Although occasionally a good band plays in Northampton, which is about 20-30 minutes away.

North Hampton's not too far from Springfield, if I remember right. I've seen some good stuff there... first time I saw Pearl Jam was at that place. But, I can also attest to having to drive a couple of hours for most of the shows I attend, too.

Hey Grasking, do they ever have shows at Foxwoods? You're by that aren't you...or is that in Rhode Island.
I ask because when they have anyone at Hard Rock Casino here...the venue is pretty small and intimate, makes for a great show. It's just waiting on them to book anyone worth seeing.

You saw Pearl Jam in Springfield at the Civic Center? If so I was at that show too, Smashing Pumpkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers were on the same bill. I've seen a few good shows at the SCC; Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Lynard Skynard, and although I hate to admit it, David Lee Roth.

Yeah, I'm about 45 minutes away from Foxwoods and Mohegan. I've never seen any shows at Foxwoods, but at Mohegan they have free shows "In the Round." I saw Taylor Dayne there one night while I was playing blackjack.

Must have been a different show, since I would have loved seeing Smashing Pumpkins back then. The one I saw was them headlining after Mudhoney. Back in... Jesus -- '94. Didn't seem so long ago until I wrote it out like that. But, that was the first, and only show I ever saw there. Lots of memories of it, though. As weird as it sounds, mine was the request to play "Yellow Ledbetter" that they played in one of the encores.

You know - I could be wrong, but I bet David Lee Roth gives a really fun and engaging show.

The Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, RHCP show was in '91 if I remember correctly.

Yeah, David Lee Roth was a fun show. My friends were surprised I went. I wasn't the biggest Van Halen or DLR fan. I remember two things from that night; my friend puking from watching me do shots of 151 (he was a three beer drinker; drink one, give one away, and dump the last one) and watching my other drunk friend throw up on a girl's head.

5) Nirvana----the unplugged show...and of course any show that he could perform
6) GnR------original lineup of course

and my dirtly little secret one:

Gloria Estefan and the Miami SOund Machine

......during the concert that aired on showtime with her wearing some white shirt..man......i was young and hitting that age where a boner was embarrasing to have in public...

Man, a friend and I had tickets to see the Grateful Dead in Chicago at Soldier Field. Living near Kansas City, we just didn't have a way to get there...none of our cars would have made it. And of course, this was their last concert they put on :( I still have the unused ticket somewhere...

I've only heard a few off the new one, and the ones I've heard I like. They just played in Northampton not too long ago. I missed them; damn those prior commitments.
