What's in your car CD player right now ?

What are you listening to now, and why isn't it Marah?

The Shirelles

I think I need some new favorite musical artists. I haven't bought a truly "new" CD in years. Are there any suggestions for someone who likes Emmylou Harris, Diana Krall, Aimee Mann, & Bruce Springsteen?

I said "new"...I already have all of Meatloaf's stuff. (Did I write that out loud?)
Seriously, there has to be some new musician out there who can tell a story!

Betsy, I'm not real sure what the women you named sound like, but if you want new "girl" music, Ingrid Michaelson is good. Not too cheesy, i think, and says kind of what's on her mind. I like Colbie Callait, too. Try them out and let me know what you think.

My suggestion, as I suggested to Joe on Twitter a few weeks ago when he was looking for some new music, is to go to Slacker Radio online and you can type in an artist, like Diana Krall, and it will play all sorts of music that is similar. You're bound to find something there.

In the meantime, I'm checking them all out so I can see if my suggestions are even close - probably not!!

Thanks everyone! I haven't had a chance to check these out but I will. Having a rough week. But I'll give them all a listen.
(I took out the Shirelles and put in the Puppino Sisters.)

I really liked this one g! I asked my daughter if she'd heard of St. Vincent and she loves her/them (?). Then she showed me a website where I could listen to more. I think I'm going to buy one of their cds. Thanks!

She's playing locally in August. I may have to go.
