I might likely have antibodies to every single pathogen known to man by now, even Malaria from Belize, which is actually a parasite I think. Then there was rabies....

Of course my dad actually bullied the hospital into starting me on the rabies vaccine, after my poor angry rabbit mysteriously died. In addition to having rabies specialists across the country on the phone, in the middle of the night, he chopped its head off and drove it, on ice, into New York City, to some PhD who agreed to test it in his lab.

I don't remember hearing about plague coming back; maybe they just had this stockpile sitting around fixin to expire.....
I can't recall even half of what they shot us up with; I remember scarlet and yellow fevers & typhoid, flu of course, (that hurt for days) and we did take pills to prevent malaria, since we were involved in some stuff in Liberia, and I guess it's rather rampant over there.

As for antibodies, I don't think I was sick for a few years after I got out, other than the common cold, and, well, hangovers.

And, poor rabbit, did it indeed have rabies? We raised a lot of rabbits when I was a kid; then my dad's union went on strike and we had to slaughter them all for food. He always said one sharp rap to the back of the head was all it took, but that turned out not to be the case. I remember, maybe 8 or 9 years old, watching in horror as he grabbed up the knife and started goin' all Norman Bates on the thing. After that we shot them.
