...that Dumbledore is gay? Everyone is acting like they knew this the whole time. I must be the thickest idiot on the planet, either that or my Gaydar is just totally whack. I didn't realize it.

But you know what? It really doesn't matter to me. Who cares? As long as he wasn't in that Michigan bathroom with Senator Larry Craig tapping out a Pirates of Penzance tune, I don't give a flying padoodle.

I adore the Harry Potter books. I love them so much, I might even marry one--unless of course it's not into girls.

I think it's awesome that Dumbledore is gay. Now all those hardcore religious fanatics can boycott the books for a whole new set of reasons.

And I can't wait to see all the flamboyantly gay men dressed up as Dumbledore for the next Gay Pride parade.

*sigh*

It'll be magical. Sparkly hot pants, happy rainbows, and "magic wands" for all....

I'm sure the anti-Harry groups are bursting into flames as we speak. Wait till they find out that Hermione had not only one, but TWO abortions.

 That was fucking AWESOME, Dana Jean!! I guess Hermione didn't want that big swastika tattoo she got on her stomach to get all stretched out of shape by the gestation of Ron's (or was it Snape's?) little rug monkeys....

:D Ahhhh. Good call. God, a mudblood half house-elf?!?! That's like being an albino 'little person' with dreams of being a WWE wrestler - the cards are just stacked against you from the start, eh?

The way I heard it, she was saying that Dumbledore had always been gay and in hindsight I can see it. I didn't realize it as I was reading the books, but it wasn't something I ever even wondered about. I never had the thought that Dumbledore might have a broken heart because he never acted like it. I ALWAYS believed Snape did because of his personality.

It makes no difference to me. The characters' sexuality is never an issue in the HP books. To her, DD was a gay man from the get go. She created them, it's her universe. I think a lot of what authors create for their characters remains in their heads rather than on the pages and when JK was asked the question, she just answered w/o thinking of the repercussions. I really doubt that was an afterthought to "make" DD gay for the sake of publicity or whatever. If anything, it would hurt sales- not increase them, what with the people who will now read too much into everything he ever said or did and forbid their children from reading them.

This is all just my opinion.....yadayada.....I will always love the HP books and Dumbledore.

This guy is a wizard, right? I thought all wizards were gay. I mean seriously, come on. They wear robes with stars, and moons made from sparkles while twirling a baton. Now a mage on the otherhand, now there's a man.

I'm sure their flowing robes hide 4" stilettos.
