Best Horror Movies of the Past 10 years

Postby aaron2010 on Tue Mar 06, 2007 11:14 pm

I totally loved Session 9 and THE EYE from the east. That was so cool. I've only seen parts of THE EYE 2, though.

VERSUS was an asian movie that I really liked. Part Evil Dead, with the fashion of the MATRIX.

Pan's Labyrinth looks good but I will wait for Netflix.
I'll pimp this movie every chance I get. It is a classic. Best movie of last year.

Yes. That was a deeply disturbing movie.

Ohmygoodness!!!! A friend lent me "Session 9" and I still get creeped out just thinking about it. I saw it over a year ago and I still get the heebeejeebees when I think about it. Another movie that creeped me out badly was "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"...possession movies scare the crap out of me, no matter how bad they are.

I liked the remake of The Hills Have Eyes quite a bit and the adaptation of Silent Hill.

I also liked the French films High Tension and Brotherhood of the Wolf. (Made by Alexandre Aja and Christophe Gans, the two directors of the above-mentioned American movies.)

The Eye and The Eye 2 are both very creepy. The second movie isn't a true sequel, though. The two movies have completely different storylines.

Horror fans should try both. If your video store doesn't have the first one, you can skip ahead to Eye 2.

The last fifteen minutes are freakin' insane.

Most of the movie is almost gentle... and then the piano wire comes out ... and the needles.

"The Blair Witch Project" had some good parts and could have been a great movie if they hadn't stuck with the "the victims shot everything we're seeing" concept.

"Feast" was pretty cool. You have to stick with it. There's a lot of payoff toward the end.

Now, are these the best? Certainly not. But, I was a kid when I first saw them and well, you know how it is when you're a kid. Everything takes on a life of its own.

Burnt Offerings was great. Only, I wish the kid would have gotten killed alot sooner than he did. He was annoying as hell.

Bad Ronald scared the shit out of me. I felt this situation could definitely happen and surveyed my home for weeks.

Neither one of them made Bravo's or A & E (whichever did it) Top 100 Horror Movies of All Time, but Willy Wonka and Wizard of Oz did.

EDITED: Wait, I think Bad Ronald did make the list. I'm not sure where, but now that I think on this a little more, I'm pretty sure it did.

Se7en really scared me.
Signs did too....

other than that I can't think of anything that has really scared me since I was a kid....
everything that is supposed to be scary now is all cheap scares ....like being startled.

THE DESCENT....is probably the best horror movie in the last couple of years.
DONNIE DARKO.Is more of a superhero movie than a horror movie.

Surprised. shocked even, that no one has mentioned The Mist. Now this is what true horror is about. The terror, violence, and gore are organic to the story and slapped on like most slasher flicks.

Darabont 'gets' the story the writer is telling once again.

A classic.

Almost anything with Keanu Reeves in it. Oh wait. It's horror, not horrible. My bad.
