Masters Of Horror

I've heard of Masters of Horror, but haven't watched any. Anytime I hear anyone talk about it, they are very disappointed.

I've read about them in Fango but we only have basic cable.

Our video store has some of them but for some reason I've been hesitating....I think I want reviews from people who've actually seen some of them.

Overall the Masters of Horror series is a disappointment. I have only seen two episodes of note - Incident On and Off a Mountain Road and Family.

Most of the episodes have been horrid - and not in the good sense.

Cigarette Burns is stylish - one of John Carpenter's best directing efforts but the episode has two major issues. There is too much content for the running time and it is saddled with dealing with something supposedly so horrid that can never live up its billing and when you are shown glimpses of it you are left underwhelmed.

Reminds me of that old Monty Python skit about the most deadliest joke. Hearing it causes one to die of unstoppable laughter. Hearing even part of it leads to madness. The actual joke was nowhere that funny.

The film in Cigarette Burns is nowhere that horrific.

THat part didnt realy bother me that much, the movie could never live up to the hype that the story was building it up to be...I thought that the episode did its job...and i enjoyed it.

I've seen Jennifer, but not the other two. The Machinist was amazing. Christian Bale is a wicked actor. I can't believe he went so quickly between extremes in weight for filming that one and Batman Begins.

Christian Bale is so amazing!!! I loved The Machinist.

Masters of Horror use to come on Showtime...I watched it last season and didn't really like any of them. I don't have premium channels anymore, waste of money if you only watch one or two shows.
