I just ordered this sick art print by Aaron Horkey today. I can't wait to see this in person.

Wow, that looks gorgeous. I love the purple hues....

What are the flying shapes? They remind me of stingrays but I know that's wrong, lol!

Yes, I believe they are. That's his stamp that he puts on the back of his prints. But he calls them Black Ospreys for some reason. I thought an osprey was a bird of prey.

It's a 16 color silkscreen about 18"x38". Although I can't wait to see it in person, I'm not looking forward to the framing cost.

When I get it, and if I'm motivated, I'll post a picture.

I also own this one;

But I wish I owned this print;

I think Horkey is trying to drain my bank account.

Hey G...I love the Andrews print. Gonna check him out. I hope you don't mind me asking but are you an artist? I have a friend who does some really interesting paintings. I'd love to hear your opinion on his work.

Those paintings are really interesting. However, I do have to say this about the first one...I swear that looks like a big penis on the right side of that first painting!

Sorry, I haven't posted in this thread because of that reason. I just couldn't stand it anymore. All I see a big ol' penis next to the moon.

I like your friend's work, definitely interesting. I love the colors. Does he do commissions often?

I'm not an artist, although I like to sketch. It's a hobby. My sister has seen some of my stuff, and thinks I should start taking art classes.

The best thing about illustrating and writing is you're never too old to start.

I thought I had posted that link before, but I wasn't sure. Sorry for the repeat. I guess the old brain isn't firing the way it used to.

G...my friend, Jeremy, works with me at the bookstore and he has been painting since he graduated from SCAD. He only started trying to promote his work in the last couple of years. I've been doing my best to try and encourage him to go for it and he has been showing some of his paintings in galleries downtown. He does do commissions, but I think some of his artwork would translate very well to book covers for the fantasy/scifi genre. Apparently it's really hard to break into the business. I just think that when someone has talent, they should do everything in their power to go for their dream. Life is so freakin' short. That's why I asked if you were an artist, G. You obviously have such a love and appreciation for art and I detected that desire in you from things you said. I think you should explore taking those classes...even if you don't become a world famous artist, just think of the satisfaction you'd feel in creating your own beauty...in hanging your work on your own walls. To be able to say, "I created that." I can't imagine a better feeling. I hope you will do it and I hope someday to see your work. Listen to your sister...don't you know that sisters know it all?
