Don't get me started...I am so sick of giving away books. The only thing I can think of is to buy bookshelves or a kindle.

That's a really good question, Grasking. I am sure you are much more creative than I.... I can only think of more book shelves.... what about something like this from IKEA? I have gone there a few times. Some stuff is cheap AND shitty...Some stuff is shitty and not so cheap...then there is things that are good quality and a good price.

I've been wanting that set-up for a while TG. I'd love a whole room...wall to wall...of those!

I eye them all the time! My husband always says "I could build that...better" and all I think is "Ok...um can you build it now or buy this for me?" LOL.
I am at IKEA a lot, LOL. My daughter loves the playroom deal there and Baby, Hubby, and I wander off for a bit looking and eating.

I'm not really a big Ikea guy, although those aren't too bad. I'm finding I like antique furniture. I'm trying to figure something out that isn't so common. I'm not sure it's possible.

You should haunt some of the used furniture/goodwill-type places. Sometimes you can come across a really nice piece of furniture. I found a really nice solid wood console for my daughter's tv & dvd player & etc...for $25. All it needed was a good cleaning.

gking....I UNDERstand your feeling towards wanting something that would seem to stand the test of time better than what is offered at ikea(which i like sometimes..have to give them props)........I have to echo what BB is saying about goodwill places...and craigslist...i found a dresser that was realy cheap and heavy as fuck..but well worth it.

Hm..I should suggest IKEA, since 90% of my furniture is from there. Though since it has been done already I could recommend just to stack your books on top of things..
Or to make one of these shelves, kinda looks like the books are floating on the wall^^
