SIGNED BOOKS..an idea.

As for most people here in the fourm i love books. Since i lived in the isolated regions of the south, gettting my hands on a "legit" signed books was near impossible(as far as signings). NOw, im going to suggest this, I will post signings that i can get 2 here around LA and if anyone wants a book signed then let me know..And, if anyone like JOe, Stephen.....comes around on you end..then you do for me what i would do for you...if anyone wants to do this with me then let me know.SO, here is the first signing that might interest people.....
1)STAN LEE IS DOING A SIGNING JUNE 21 AT A PLACE CALLED FRANK AND SONS...
if you want a comic signed then the price for the sig is $25 BUCKS PER SIGNATURE.(thats what they are charging). PM me if you are interested..just trying to branch out some kindness and let those who would want it, have an oppurtunity to get it....

Pardon me for saying, but charging for a signature? (I didn't check out the site)

But I am hoping that the money is going to charity and not his pocket.

And from what i can tell...charging 20-25 for a signature is pretty standard practice..At comiccon, i had to pay 20 for every sig i got from some of the actors(Rosario dawson for one)...even when i spent money on her comic that she is doing(not the comic sig.) I still had to pay her 20 for her to sign my sin city dvd..But, the good thing is that they cant charge you for them to sign there event schedule book...SO, i guess in the end,If you want the guys autograph then sometimes you have to pay for it...but for this event ...it is going to stan lee's charity....I already bought 6 tickets just for myself...and the last time i was there i bought 5 tickets...This time around i wanted to get some of the OMNIbus signed like the fantastic four, spiderman, captain america,hulk...and some ultimates signed..anyway..im just happy to have the oppurtunity to have these signed by the man himself...and it does ease the pain knowing that it is going to a charity....

2 of a kind............I didn't have to pay to get his Dad's, either.
Thrill of my lifetime, let me tell ya. :)
(I took a postcard with me that he'd typed and signed to me back in the day, '82 or so. Just wanted to show him and let him know what that had meant to me at the time. I did well in school- partly since, in his postcard, he'd told me to, lol.)

I think sometimes, the fee is to discourage those slimy enough to get sigs just to turn around and sell them on eBay at grossly inflated prices.

You'll have my signed books when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers.

I understand why people get books signed and sell them. "Because they can". I think at least the person who buys it wants the actual item and not for resale. Most of the time I would think.

I have three books signed by Joe to auction off for the animal shelter I run and I haven't had the balls to do it yet..feels sorta sacrilegious or something.....He knew at the time that's what I was doing with them, but I still feel kinda cheesy about it.
