Swine Flu...

Postby demorganakamark on Wed Apr 29, 2009 6:05 pm

Is it time to restrict travel completely to Mexico. Is it time to shut down the border( harsh, but maybe necessary). The threat level has went up. Is this the modern day version of the STAND. It has actually hit close to where we are at in Riverside. We are in a state of local emergency. The schools are shutting down, if a student is found to be sick with this virus.

I really don't think it's a modern day version of The Stand, but maybe a modern day version of the Spanish Flu of 1918.

Technically, I agree with the spanish flu.
As far as the comparison to a modern day stand type breakout, well, I was just echoing what the people at the SK site are saying( they are a little more dramatic over there).lol

My cousin works at our local hospital and he was telling me that the amount of cases of people who think they have this thing is amazing. People coming in wearing gas masks. Way to go MEDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Until the next 'lets try to scare the shit out of everyone' story. We shall meet again, I have no doubt.

Tonight, we went to wal mart to get some hand sanitizer...they where out of course. Then we had to go to target, and we found some bottles( we bought 4..2 for offices,1 for home and one to take with us) and the checker about had a fit( she couldnt find any when she looked, i guess). Thats how crazy it seems here.

What happened with that avian flu in Asia a few years ago? Or SARS?

Honestly, I've been through this shit so many times it just doesn't even register anymore. It's just one more thing I have no control over...Swine Flu, the economy, terrorists, my kids...etc. LOL.
