Wish they had a pic.

BTW, did you see on the same page that someone has written a 6th Hitchhiker book? Apparently, Adams widow gave the go ahead. I can't imagine anyone being able to do that series right except Douglas Adams.

I've read a few articles about this. The author has used the characters but has not tried to mimic the Adams style. I will not be reading it, I just do not see the point. 42

LOL! I'm kinda torn about it. I'm very curious, but I love DA soooo much maybe I should avoid it as well. This sounds weird because of course I never met the man, but I really miss him.

I've never read any of the Hitchhiker books. Are they worth my time?

DJ...I loved them. Plenty of authors have made me feel all kinds of emotions, but Douglas Adams is one of very few that have ever made me laugh out loud. Plus, I almost always felt really good after I read them. If you don't want to invest a lot of time to begin with (the series is 5 books), you could try his first Dirk Gently book---Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I loved that one too.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Just keep in mind DA will take you to places you've never even imagined!

I saw this in Target the other day and noticed Eoin Colfer's name as author....it made me do a double-take.

I only knew OC because I just bought some of the Artemis Fowl books for my nephew.

Here's a link from a fan of DA that has 2 vids of EC discussing the book:

Thanks LK...I feel a little better about the whole thing after watching those. I've never read anything by Colfer so I don't really know what kind of a writer he is, but I appreciate the respect he has for Adams. I think I may read this one after all...provided I can read it without any real expectations. It certainly wouldn't be fair to expect him to be like DA...there was never anyone like DA and never will be.
